Since Kauai wraps up our Hawaii adventure, I’m adding one last special post—a full cost breakdown of our trip! Here, you’ll find all our expenses categorized into:
Food – Groceries & Restaurants
Gas & Car Rentals
Activities & Experiences
Flights (in total)
Total cost of our Hawaii trip
We went full low-cost mode, not even spending just one night in a hotel/hostel. We slept in rental cars, and on Kauai, we stayed in a house viatrustedhousesitters.com.
But hey, we didn’t skimp on adventure! We couldn’t resist swimming with sharks, which some might call an unnecessary splurge, but for us, it was a MUST-TRY. Others might prefer spending on hotels instead of a rental car, but for us, having a car was non-negotiable— cars were both for us our transport and our home. Plus, the flexibility it gave us was priceless. We changed plans on the go, explored hidden gems, and went wherever the road (or lack of one) took us.

In total, we spent 16 days in Hawaii, and the total cost for two people was little bit less than 3,200 USD
I think we did pretty well—honestly, this is an amazing price for such a long trip to Hawaii!
